The F-150 comes with a 3.3L V6 engine that will arm you with 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. While this will prove plenty powerful, the Ram will provide you with a slightly more robust engine performance. Under the hood of the Ram is a 3.6L V6. This extra engine displacement allows the Ram to out-muscle the Ford in terms of both horsepower and torque, where it features 305 HP and 269 lb-ft, respectively.

So, if you’re looking to maximize your raw power, the Ram 1500 will edge out the Ford pickup.

Cabs & Work Crews

Another critical difference you’ll find with these two pickups is the cabins they offer. If you’re interested in a pickup, specifically for professional and commercial use, you’ll likely be working with a crew of multiple people. Accordingly, you’ll want to maximize your interior cabin space, so you can comfortably get to the worksite with your team.

The F-150 comes with a regular cab that only features one row. You can opt to upgrade to a SuperCab or SuperCrew Cab, either of which will extend your seating capacity to five or six. Though, the standard cab only allows you to seat up to three. The Ram 1500, however, comes standard with a Quad Cab. This means, you’ll be able to seat up to six in the Ram with ease.

Could double the standard seating space mean double the productivity? If so, the Ram 1500 edges out the Ford pickup once again.

Whether you need fun or function, the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 will offer the bed space and functionality needed for an upcoming job or adventure. You’ll have over six feet of bed space when exploring either of these—perfect for storing gear.

You will find an additional available bed feature on the Ram 1500, though. This comes in the form of the available Multi-Function Tailgate. When equipped with this, your Ram will offer you the ability to open the bed via a 60/40 folding door. You won’t find this type of versatility on the F-150, as it doesn’t offer this feature.
