• Full-Synthetic - Full-synthetic motor oil provides the lightest viscosity and best resistance to thermal breakdown. It flows to the engine’s moving parts faster, especially in colder weather. Most newer vehicles benefit from full-synthetic motor oil. Be sure to change full-synthetic oil every 10,000 miles unless driving in harsh conditions.
• Semi-Synthetic - Semi-synthetic delivers a blended composition and performance of conventional and synthetic base stock. The composite improves performance beyond conventional and reduces the price compared to full-synthetic. Many vehicle owners that started with conventional oil switch to semi-synthetic when the engine accumulates higher miles, around 75,000 to 100,000 miles. Semi-synthetic motor oil needs to be changed every 5,000 to 7,500 miles.
• Conventional - Conventional motor oil is the original combustion engine lubricant universally adopted by automakers in the 1930s as automobile ownership became more common. It’s produced by refining petroleum and provides sufficient lubrication for some modern combustion engines. Conventional motor oil is a budget-friendly option with a 3,000 to 5,000-mile change interval.
• Diesel - Diesel oil is specially crafted for lubricating diesel engines that generate greater torque/horsepower. It contains enhanced anti-friction modifiers and other additives that improve diesel engine lubrication and thermal breakdown resistance.

Extended Oil Change Risks

Putting off oil changes until after the recommended interval exposes the engine to the detriments of poor lubrication. Sludgy, dirty, broken-down oil cannot provide sufficient lubrication, heating the engine while making the components work harder, causing rapid component depreciation, reduced fuel efficiency, and shorter engine life.
